Welcome

Welcome to the 58th SENY convention! The convention offers workshops, speaker meetings, information tables, and more touching on AA’s three legacies of Recovery, Unity and Service as well as welcoming participation from Al-Anon Family Groups.

The annual Southeastern New York (SENY) Area 49 Convention is a three-day AA event traditionally held in March. The weekend brings together members from across the fellowship for recovery, unity, and service. Attendees can participate in workshops, a Friday welcome meeting, a Saturday afternoon theme meeting, a Saturday night speaker meeting, and a Sunday morning spiritual meeting. The Convention also features an optional Saturday banquet, a Saturday night dance open to all, continuous Alkathon meetings, Al-Anon participation, and YPAA workshops. The SENY Convention offers an opportunity for all participants to gather in fellowship, strengthen their recovery, and share in a spirit of unity.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the SENY Convention?

The SENY (Southeast New York) Convention is an annual three-day gathering of AA members focused on recovery, unity, and service. It includes workshops, meetings, and social activities that support fellowship and spiritual growth.

Who can attend the Convention?

All AA members, newcomers, Al-Anon members, and YPAA participants are welcome. Anyone interested in recovery and fellowship is encouraged to attend.

When and where is the Convention held?

It typically takes place in March. The location is announced annually on the SENY website, flyers, and through local AA groups.

Is there a cost to attend?

There is usually a suggested registration fee to help cover event expenses. The optional banquet requires an additional fee.

What if I cannot afford the registration fee?

SENY strives to ensure the Convention is accessible to all.

We want everyone who would like to attend the convention to feel welcome, regardless of financial circumstances.

Scholarships are available. During registration, simply select the option that says “I can’t afford the registration.” A member of our team will follow up to make sure cost is not a barrier to your participation.

You are not alone, and we look forward to having you with us.

How do I stay updated with Convention information?

Updates are shared through the SENY website, event flyers, home groups, and service announcements.

How can I volunteer to help?

There are many service opportunities at the Convention, including registration, hospitality, greeters, Alkathon support, and entertainment. Volunteers may sign up online or at the event. For more information about volunteer opportunities, reach out to volunteer@convention.aaseny.org. Learn more about volunteer opportunities here.
